Irpinia Aglianico Doc

The Mastroberardino family has lived in the socio-cultural context of wine for over two centuries, based on the most reliable historical reconstructions.

The first traces of its presence in Irpinia date back to the Bourbon land registry, in the mid-eighteenth century, when the family chose the village of Atripalda as its headquarters, where the ancient cellars are still located, and from there originated a lineage that linked indissolubly their fate to the cult of wine.

Ten generations, since then, have led the family business, amidst ups and downs, as always happens in the stories of family businesses of more ancient origin. The family estates are located in Irpinia, cradle of three DOCGs: Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino and Taurasi, distributed in the various areas of the territory with the aim of preserving their identity and ensuring their protection.

Mastroberardino Winery

The Mastroberardino winery is a reference point for Italian viticulture and is recognized as the champion of the native Irpinia and Campania vines.

The Mastroberardino family business has historical origins, this was founded in 1878 in the territory of Atripalda in Avellino and for ten generations they have carried on the wine traditions of the area.

The estates are located in Irpinia, the cradle of three DOCGs: Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino and Taurasi, distributed in the various areas of the territory with the aim of preserving their identity and ensuring their protection.

Mastroberardino has in fact always paid great attention to the protection and enhancement of varieties such as Aglianico, Fiano, Greco, Falanghina, Piedirosso, Coda di Volpe, whose origins date back to Greek colonization and Roman civilization.

Mastroberardino for the planet

For many years, the Mastroberardino family has started a system of management of production activities that takes into account all the most significant aspects for assessing the environmental impact and for the implementation of sustainable production.

Thanks to the identification of four indicators (Earth, Air, Vineyard and Water) the company constantly monitors the impact of its production in terms of sustainability and develops a process of continuous improvement, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and limiting water and energy consumption.

Mastroberardino is at the forefront of enhancing and preserving the living organisms and ecological systems of the areas where the company's activities take place, from the vineyard to the cellar.  Consolidated and constantly improved procedures that give shape to a coordinated and integrated series of management systems for the entire cycle of use of natural resources: from the sustainable consumption of raw materials to the careful management of emissions and waste.
