This sweet and sour grilled pumpkin is excellent to enjoy as an appetizer, starter, or side dish.
The careful blend of natural ingredients used to season the pumpkin does not alter the genuine taste of the raw material. This product is made within Masseria Ferraioli, a property confiscated from the Camorra and recently returned to the community. It is managed by a network of organizations, associations, schools, and cooperatives in the local area.
Masseria Antonio Esposito Ferraioli, is managed by a Temporary Association of Purpose composed of: Third Sector Consortium, Cooperative Man and Wood, Cooperative Giancarlo Siani, CGIL Naples and Sott'e'ncoppa Association. The territory of North Naples has seen archaic forms of Camorra organization move to illegal systems organized in an entrepreneurial way, which unfortunately still rage and control various economic sectors (drug trafficking, financing and conducting public contracts, illegal waste disposal). From Masseria Antonio Esposito Ferraioli we wanted to propose and implement a model of civil society that believes in the culture of legality and carries out its activities on confiscated assets with the explicit intention of returning the stolen goods of the clans to citizens. In addition to agricultural activity, Masseria Ferraioli carries out an important educational activity especially in the field of legality education, hosts training meetings with schools, has hosted the engagement and training camps organized by Libera, dedicates over 10,000 square meters to the important activity of urban gardens involving over 100 citizens.
It starts with the cultivation of confiscated land to create not only quality but social agriculture, which places the person and the community of reference at the center. The activities are aimed at involving the community, for the socio-cultural change of the territory and to make confiscated assets and common symbols and resources of communities free from the Camorra more and more. On the confiscated property of Afragola, we sow, cultivate and harvest while the transformation takes place in small highly qualified laboratories.

From Clans to Community
The Renaissance of Masseria Antonio Esposito Ferraioli: A Confiscated Asset from the Camorra Serving the Community
Masseria Antonio Esposito Ferraioli is located within the largest asset confiscated from the Camorra in the Metropolitan City of Naples, in Afragola. This land has been returned to the community and is managed by a network of local organizations, associations, schools, and cooperatives. The masseria is named after Antonio Esposito Ferraioli, a chef, scout, and labor unionist with CGIL, an innocent victim of the Camorra. Within this extensive estate, covering approximately twelve hectares, equivalent to 120,000 square meters, suitable for horticultural cultivation, "Urban Gardens" have been established. Today, families, associations, and citizens come together to breathe new life into this land, which was once under the control of criminal clans.
The social project
The allocation of the "Urban Gardens" has achieved significant success, with over a hundred assignees, including numerous citizens, associations, and schools. "There are 90 urban gardens at Masseria Ferraioli, involving as many families, associations, and citizens, all united in the effort to revive this land, once held by criminal clans, but now a common asset of the entire community." The activities extend beyond agriculture and encompass workshops and training programs to combat violence against women, summer camps by the Libera association, the Living Biodiversity Museum, and the fight against labor exploitation.
